Lakeside and Waun Pond Project.

This part of Blaenau Gwent has a rich history from the Bronze age to the present day.  The lake is the biggest man made lake in the Ebbw Fach Valley and is being developed into a major fishing attraction.  Waun Pond also has a varied wildfowl community.

The round tower adjacent to the lake will be turned into a cafe with a bird watching tower.  Local history will be interpreted as a mural in the ceiling.

The Friends of Lakeside and Waun Pond charity has been established to redevelop the Lakeside area in Nantyglo, especially around Waun Pond.

The project is part of a five year plan to redevelop Waun Pond and the surrounding areas bordering the Lakeside development.
