Duffryn River Pathway
Westside and Forgeside Tennets and Residents have created a riverside walk which has seating and lovely stone engravings. It is a great place to sit and eat your sandwiches and watch the wildlife. This was achieved with the help of a £54,000 Cydcoed - Woods for All Grant from the Forestry Commission Wales programme, funded by the European Union (Objective One) and Welsh Assembly Government.
An existing path was already a favourite with dog walkers and is a regular haunt for bird watchers and anglers.
Volunteers worked alongside local contractors to selectively clear the site, plant trees, stabilise the river bank and put in seating as well as putting in a pushchair friendly pathway.
The photographs below were taken in late May 2012.
